Our experience is fuelled by a long lasting experience mostly as a fire brigade in development projects at critical stages. In the first view each project seems to have its own difficulties, scientifically, technically, and management wise. And of course a posteriori views can identify early indications and reasons for later failures. If one searches for common features for later failures and for techniques, tools and mechanisms which could have prevented later failures there is one common feature which can be described as a lack of integrated information exchange. Furthermore this can be associated with the lack of systematic use of techniques which increase the success in other areas, early and repeated gap analyses. |
